Vikings, Know Your Day!
At All Saints, our class schedule isn't a traditional Monday–Friday one but a rotating six-day letter day schedule (A–F). This type of schedule change is the result of thoughtful planning and supports a key goal of our Strategic Plan: creating a cohesive academic framework that aligns curriculum, scheduling, and instruction to strengthen student learning and achievement. The rotating academic schedule is designed to better support student learning, create greater consistency throughout the school day, and provide new opportunities for students to develop the academic and life skills they need to succeed.
The schedule provides consistent instructional time across subjects and allows teachers to better align curriculum, instruction, and assessment while providing a balanced learning experience for every student. Students in PK3–5th grade have scheduled morning break and recess each day. Research shows that regular opportunities for movement, play, and social interaction improve students' focus, well-being, and readiness to learn. Also, our core and enrichment classes—including Art, Library, Music, Physical Education, STEAM, and Spanish— have more consistent instructional periods, providing equitable learning time and supporting thoughtful lesson planning. Lastly, the rotating schedule creates time for two exciting opportunities, Social Emotional Learning and FlexTime:
Social Emotional Learning (SEL)
All students in PK3–8th grade participate in a dedicated weekly SEL class. The schoolwide program helps students strengthen skills such as self-awareness, emotional regulation, relationship building, responsible decision-making, and resilience.
FlexTime
Students in 3rd–8th grade participate in FlexTime, a period focused on developing executive functioning skills, including planning, organization, time management, goal setting, and self-monitoring.
During FlexTime, students may:

Meet with teachers for additional support

Visit the library for reading or research

Work independently or collaboratively on assignments

Make up assessments due to anticipated absences

Organize materials and prepare for upcoming coursework
This flexible time encourages independence while helping students develop habits that support long-term success.
How the letter day schedule works
Students rotate through a six-day cycle:
A Day → B Day → C Day → D Day → E Day → F Day
Because Mondays are early dismissal days, every Monday is always an A Day and does not count as part of the six-day rotation.
For example:

This structure ensures students receive balanced instructional time in every subject throughout the year.
Color-coded letter days
To help students navigate the schedule, each letter day is paired with a color:

A Day – Red

B Day – Orange
-
C Day – Yellow
-
D Day – Green
-
E Day – Blue
-
F Day – Purple
Using both letters and colors provides visual cues that make the schedule easier to recognize and follow.
The rotating schedule creates a more balanced, intentional, and student-centered learning experience while supporting both academic growth and student well-being.
