Chapel and Spiritual Leadership
Chapel and Spiritual Leadership
The school day at All Saints Episcopal School begins everyday with a chapel service at 8:15 a.m. PK3, PK4, and Kindergarten students meet in the large gathering area of the 3rd-5th Grade building, Monday through Thursday, for a chapel service filled with stories and songs appropriate for that age group; Friday they meet in the sanctuary of St Stephen's Church at 8:45 a.m.

Students in 1st grade through 8th grade attend chapel services daily in the sanctuary of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. The chapel program is under the direction of the Chaplain and the Head of School. On Thursdays, our service is in Spanish. Each Friday, our chapel talk is on the topic of our virtue of the month. The clergy from St. Mark's and St. Stephen's Episcopal Churches are regular speakers as are other community leaders.Teachers are urged to make use of chapel lessons in classroom discussions or as the subject matter for classroom activities. The chaplain regularly visits PK3 – 5th grade classrooms for stories and discussion about the virtue of the month.

Middle School students at All Saints play a key leadership role in the daily chapel services. They are assigned the duty of assisting in the service by carrying the cross, flags, banners, and leading the psalm reading. Each class in grades 2 - 8 is expected to present a chapel program on its Saints day. Teachers may consult with the Chaplain in planning such chapel programs. Parents are encouraged to attend these special chapels.

There are regularly scheduled celebrations of Holy Communion/Eucharist. Students in grades one and above are welcome to receive the Sacrament if they have been baptized, are regular communicant members of their own church, and have parental consent. All students are to come forward to the altar rail to receive Holy Communion for a blessing. Field Trip Uniform is required on the announced Holy Eucharist days. See the school calendar for the dates (HC). All members of our All Saints family are welcome to join us for chapel anytime.

The Chaplain is available as a spiritual and pastoral resource for students, families and staff.
