Middle School (MS) Overview

All Saints Middle School seeks to celebrate the uniqueness of early adolescence. Because middle school students are changing emotionally and physically, social behavior, peer pressure, and personal values often become primary factors in the learning process. Our faculty is sensitive to the unique needs of our middle school students and by working closely with parents, we help students grow from children to young adults. Our program prepares these young adults for a smooth and successful transition into high school.

Language arts, math, science, social studies, Spanish, computer, and physical education are the core courses taken by all middle school students. Study Skills, Latin, Religion, Art, Music, Drama and Health are courses which enrich the core courses at different grade levels. Students also have the opportunity to choose from a variety of courses as their elective choices. These choices include classes such as Music/Theater, Drama/Speech, Band, Classic Literature, Medieval Musings, and Extended Math.

Our middle school students have leadership opportunities provided through Student Council and National Junior Honor Society. In addition, they may choose to serve as academic leaders by participating in a variety of academic competitions, including Private School Interscholastic Academic Competitions (PSIA and the Texas Math and Science Coaches Association competitions (TMSCA).

During these middle school years, students can become involved in the athletic program by participating in our numerous team sports. All Saints offers volleyball, soccer, girls and boys basketball, tennis, golf, track, and girls softball. After shining on the fields and the courts, students can take the stage to perform with the band, sing with the middle school choir, or showcase their acting abilities in the fall play and spring musical. The annual art show is always a true exhibit of talent where students display their masterpieces that were created with a variety of media.

The Middle School program serves the dual role of preparation for the immediate and well-defined future of the next grade and the largely unknown years to come. After completing three years in middle school, students can enjoy the confidence that develops from proper preparation academically, socially and spiritually. As sixth graders, they enter swaddled in a cocoon waiting to transform into a beautiful butterfly. Upon their eighth grade graduation, their transformation into a variety of butterflies is complete, and they spread their wings as they soar into high school with confidence.
